FAQs & Policies
Here are some of our most frequently asked questions
At AERO we provide both Series and Drop In classes. Intro to Pole class is a 4 week series and Level 1 and 2 Classes are 6 week series. Series classes are a set of classes that a student registers for which occur at the same time each week. Each lesson builds from the previous session in order to help students progress in their practice.
Drop in classes are single classes that students can register for. Drop in classes are also designed to help students progress while also allowing for schedule flexibility (although it is recommended to take a full series or be enrolled in the same series as you are registering for Drop ins).
I'm a beginner and wondering where to start and which pole classes to take? What is the difference between Series and Drop ins?
Series classes are a set of classes that a student registers for which occur at the same time each week. Each lesson builds from the previous session in order to help students progress in their practice. Drop in classes are single classes that students can register for. Drop in classes are also designed to help students progress while also allowing for schedule flexibility (although it is recommended to take a full series or be enrolled in the same series as you are registering for Drop ins).
In what order do I take classes?
Most of our students start with either a Taster class or Intro to Pole series. A Taster is a 60 min class which gives you a “taste” of beginner pole fundamentals. Intro to Pole is a series of four 60 minute classes which includes everything (+ more) you learn from a Taster and adds progressions to those skills over a 4 week series, building on previous class sessions.
Once a student completes a Taster or an Intro to Pole, they usually move to a Level 1 series. This is a six week series of 75 min classes. Once the six week series is complete, most students will continue with drop in classes until they have met the prerequisites for a Level 2. Level 2 and above are all drop in classes.
After a Level 1 series is completed, students are eligible to take specialty classes including Low Flow, Choreo, Sensual, Sensual San Heels as they will have the pole foundations required for these classes.
Can I use my Class Pack on an entire series?
Yes! You can use a class pack on a series. However, if you have purchased a series, that payment goes to an entire series and may not be used to schedule individual classes.
Do I have to purchase every class in the series or can I drop into certain sessions?
Students should follow prompts in the app to register for series classes. If a Series has not filled one week prior to the series start date, the app will allow students to drop into certain sessions with space, however they will pay the per session rate for that class ($30 for ITP and $35 for Level 1-5) or can use one of their class packs. The app will automatically register students for the entire series and if the series is open to drop ins it will allow students to select/deselect certain class sessions.
Can I use my membership on a series?
Yes, members can use their preregistered classes on series. They will be required to register for the entire series if it has not begun. Alternatively they can preregister for or drop into any series class if that series has already begun and has space.
I want to try pole dancing but I don't think I have enough upper body strength. Should I wait until I’m stronger or can I start now? Do I need to be in good shape to begin?
Pole dance is one of THE best and most fun ways to get in shape while improving the way you look and feel about your body. Our beginner level classes are accessible to everyone and are designed to develop your strength and technique in a linear fashion over the duration of your course. The best part is that you’ll be having so much fun, you’ll hardly notice what a great workout you’re getting!
Do I need to sign up beforehand or can I just show up?
We highly recommend preregistration for all of our series and drop-in classes as these tend to fill up quickly. Prepayment is required to book private lessons and private parties.
What should I wear?
Warm-up clothing should consist of pants, socks and a long sleeve top. After warm-up, shorts are required for pole work. Beginners can wear T-Shirts and tank tops, but Level II and above require exposed arms and midriffs for safety reasons. Many students like to dance in some sort of footwear: socks, toe-kinis (available for purchase), ballet slippers and heels are all great items for your feet. And kneepads should eventually make their way into your pole bag and are required for Low Flow and Exotic Flow. For the comfort and hygiene of all of our students, please make sure all of your bits are adequately covered.
What shouldn’t I wear?
Jewelry, lotion or especially oil! Please refrain from using any moisturizing products on your skin on the day of a pole class for safety reasons.
Can I wear heels?
Please! But we do not allow street shoes in the studio. We require your rubber soled dance heels to be reserved for the studio or the stage only so as not to bring dirt onto the floors we roll around on.
What should I bring to class?
Please bring a water bottle, proper studio attire, any pole grip aids you require. Many students like to take notes and/or videos.
How old do I have to be to take classes at The Aero Space?
You must be 16 to participate in any of our classes and have a waiver of liability co-signed by yourself (and your parent/legal guardian if you are under 18).
Will there be any men in my class?
Possibly! The AERO Space is proud to be an equal opportunity studio and we encourage everyone to be a part of our community, regardless of their gender identity, race, ethnicity, ability, age, etc. If you have any concerns about being in a co-ed class, please speak to one of our staff before your course begins. We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable in the studio and we will do our best to accommodate you.
I have no dance background. Is that ok? Will I be able to keep up?
Yes and yes! Our classes are designed to teach the absolute beginner how to gracefully and fluidly move around, up and down the pole from day one.
What if I miss a class?
We do not provide makeup classes but students registered for drop in classes will have the option to withdraw at least 48 hours in advance and receive credit for a future class. Please make sure to withdraw from classes and series you cannot attend to avoid the $5 no-show fee.
